Animal Rescue Center of Shawnee

NEEDED: If you have a pet carrier/pet taxi in good working order that you are not using. Please consider donating it to ARC for use in our spay/neuter projects. Drop us an email and we will make arrangements to pick it up. We need all sizes. Thank you.

The Animal Rescue Center of Shawnee, in conjunction with the Oklahoma City Humane Society, is going to provide routine low income spay/neuter services, at least twice a month. Households with an income below $40,000 and 501(c)(3) rescues qualify for the program. Follow this link for more information.

Helpful TIP: I know it is still a long way off to be thinking about using our car heaters, but this is something to remember. Out pets are attracted to the taste of antifreeze and it is hazardous to their health. A small leak in the heater core could leak antifreeze into the passenger compartment of the car, the pet could lick this antifreeze from the carpet or floor mat and become a statistic. Please be aware of you pets surrounding and what they are coming in contact with, it could save their life.

Please help animals by contributing your time, money, or ideas to animal shelters, rescue organizations, and aid foundations. It takes a lot of these three things to increase the quality of life for the animals and the citizens. The best part is, everyone can contribute.

We have public board meetings and we welcome anyone who desires to participate or just come by to watch. Lets work together to make Shawnee, Pottawatomie County, and Oklahoma a better place to live for us and our pets.

Due to scheduling conflicts with the majority of the ARC board; the 8 Feb 2010 ARC meeting is rescheduled for 22 Feb 2010 at 6PM in the Shawnee City Hall Commissioners’ chamber.

When: Every Second Monday, 6PM (we try to keep meetings to 1 hour)

Where: Shawnee City Hall, Commissioners Chambers. Enter through the doors on the North side of the building.
